Colts.com reports that WR Darius Slayton, signed after Alec Pierce’s IR-bound heel injury, is working closely with WR coach Reggie Wayne to learn Indianapolis’ offense before Week 3 against the Texans. Slayton, who spent five seasons catching passes from QB Daniel Jones with the Giants, said ‘philosophically, I think we see the field pretty similarly, and that’s something that worked well for us in the past. And I expect it to work well for us going forward.’ Head coach Shane Steichen said Slayton could add ‘juice’ to the offense with his downfield speed, and Slayton noted that before Jones’ injury last season, ‘the offense was sharp’ and he expects it ‘to look similar this year again.’
