Free-agent DE Derek Barnett (Texans) signed a one-year deal worth up to $5.5 million with the Cleveland Browns on Sunday, Aug. 23, according to a source. He spent the previous three seasons with the Houston Texans. Barnett was signed to replace DE Alex Wright (Achilles), who suffered a season-ending injury in joint practices with the Buffalo Bills on Thursday.
