Packers LB Zaire Franklin (shin) has been ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Lions after taking a knee to his shin during a collision at Thursday’s practice, head coach Matt LaFleur said on Friday. The team does not anticipate Franklin landing on injured reserve, with LaFleur saying, “I don’t think it’s going to be anything too long term.” LaFleur expressed confidence in LBs Isaiah McDuffie, Ty’Ron Hopper and Nick Niemann, and Sunday would mark Hopper’s third career start. It will be only the second game Franklin has missed in nine NFL seasons, snapping a streak of 48 consecutive games played.
