I’m dead inside: You hang on every play. You live for the thrill. You die with the losses and cheer the wins. I might not even watch.

You let wins and losses affect your mood. Not me! I’m just as angry an asshole win or lose. Those of you that follow my Twitter @TheAlgoholic can confirm that.

YOU HAVE NO CONTROL OVER THE GAME. Nothing bad will happen if you don’t watch it, likewise, you have no positive effect on the outcome either. You get mad at players and teams. You swear off betting teams because they burned you! This only creates a negative bias that affects your future decision making.

Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy sports and betting. I watch a ton of sports, but on a daily basis, I could care less. I get down on the best numbers and go live my life. I can literally watch a game and forget who I bet on. You don’t cry daily when your stock portfolio goes down do you?

Don’t be that asshole following At Bat on your phone and ignoring your kid’s baseball game. Life is just too short. To have any staying power in this you simply cannot follow every event like your life depends on it. You will burn out.

VFW Joe sweats games like he is going to die because his wife hates him, his house smells like shit and he is on his last bus token. Don’t be a loser like Joe, don’t let this consume you. And remember do not let yourself become biased, be dead inside like me.
