Welcome to the 2025 Fantasy Guru Fantasy Football Magazine
Welcome to the 2025 Fantasy Guru Fantasy Football Magazine and thank you for putting your trust in us to make you a better fantasy football player.
Let me begin by telling you something that I absolutely hate. I hate it when I hear people say things like “nobody drafted Bucky Irving last year” or “everybody had Christian McCaffrey as the first overall pick.” Because neither of those thoughts are true. At least not for our members at Fantasy Guru dot com. Our in-depth player evaluation of Bucky Irving uncovered a smallish yet extremely productive between the tackles runner who was a great fit for Liam Coen’s offense in Tampa Bay. We also begged our users all summer to take the surest player in fantasy football in Bengals WR Ja’Marr Chase at #1 overall as opposed to last years MVP Christian McCaffrey who was coming off of a massive regular season and playoff workload.
We were the place that broke down the positive impact of Klint Kubiak and Rick Dennison’s arrival in New Orleans would have on elder RB Alvin Kamara and the Saints offense before the rest of the fantasy football community understood. If Khalil Shakir’s emergence as Josh Allen’s WR1 was a surprise to you, well, you definitely weren’t part of our community last year because the guy that we nicknamed “Tommy Callahan” was one receiver we went all in on in the late rounds. Shakir was that perfect every week starter that cost us nothing that we needed to close out championships.
I’m also extremely proud of our in-season analysis that told us to ignore the hype on Chiefs RB Carson Steele and instead hop aboard the Kareem Hunt express once Isiah Pacheco went down with a broken leg.
It wasn’t all sunshine and rose petals though. We had some misses too. None of them stung quite as hard as being all in on the Los Angeles Chargers backfield but choosing to fade JK Dobbins for the likes of Gus Edwards and Kimani Vidal. Dobbins did eventually go down with an injury as we expected but neither of those other runners stepped up the way we expected.
But we are not going to play this game afraid. There is no perfection in fantasy football. We are never going to be scared of being wrong on a team, player or situation. We put in the time, we do the work and the results are there for everyone to see.
At Fantasy Guru dot com we have a saying: Winners Win. That isn’t just a snappy tagline, it really is our way of life. Being a profitable fantasy player is about more than just knowing statistics and having a good draft. We strongly believe that knowledge is power and as you will read in these pages, there is a ton of high-level information from some of the greatest fantasy football players in the world.
You are now embarking on a journey that will change the way you think about and play fantasy football forever. You see, we are not just another team of fantasy players pretending to be analysts. Fantasy Guru dot com has been around since 1995 and is the largest active community in fantasy sports. During the last 30 years there isn’t a competition that we haven’t won. Seasonal championships, high stakes leagues, best ball formats, dynasty leagues, daily fantasy sports (DFS), content awards, projection accuracy, radio, podcasts and everything in-between. You are now aligned with the best minds in fantasy football.
Please do not expect the same tired old content within these pages. That is not what we do. This is 2025 and we are fresh off a very dramatic offseason. Everything that you knew in 2024 is worthless now. There have been over 300 NFL free agent signings, 257 rookies drafted into the league, over 50 players who retired this offseason and another 100+ who remain unsigned going into training camp. We have also seen four new general managers, eight new player personnel executives, seven new head coaches, 13 new offensive coordinators and 12 new defensive coordinators. There is also as many as 11 NFL teams who could have a new starting quarterback in week one of 2025. A lot has changed since the Eagles hoisted the Lombardi trophy in February. But fear not, our team at Fantasy Guru has you covered.
In the pages that follow you are going to learn all about the new offensive systems in place in Chicago, New England, Jacksonville, Las Vegas, New Orleans and New York (Jets). You will also learn why identifying these offensive schemes matters for our in-season matchups. These coaching systems are an incredible way to improve your knowledge of the game of football while understanding where fantasy production comes from. Nobody else in your league will have this insight that is for sure.
We’ve broken down the biggest winners and losers of this NFL off-season and targeted the teams and players we should be investing in for fantasy purposes this season. Some are obvious like Justin Fields with the Jets and Najee Harris with the Chargers. Others like Christian Kirk and Deebo Samuel being traded to Houston and Washington might not excite you much yet, but they should.
The fastest growing style of fantasy football is definitely the best ball format. Best ball is where you draft your team and never make another roster move all season. This style is perfect for those of us who love drafting but get distracted or just do not have the time during the season to set lineups, make waiver moves or trades. Whether you are new to best ball or an experienced vet, we’ve got the best strategies to implement this year.
I can go on and on about the great content we have here in these pages and on our website for you. I am extremely proud of the content we produce and appreciate you for picking up our magazine this year. We love your feedback so please tell us what you think and how your season is going on “X” @FantasyGuruSite.
Remember that everything you read in here is updated around the clock over at www.fantasyguru.com. This includes our most up to date rankings and projections for every format imaginable.
Oh, and remember what the great Vince Lombardi said about the quest for perfection.
“Perfection is not attainable. But if we chase perfection, we just may catch excellence.”
Good luck in 2025!
