Welcome to Week 2 of our NFL DFS Quarterbacks coach article â where I identify optimal point-per-dollar plays for our lineups on FanDuel and DraftKings. The biggest factors to consider when selecting Quarterbacks for our DFS lineups are matchup, game flow, Vegas totals and spread. Ideally, facing weak defenses with subpar secondaries are always our first target. For Quarterbacks to be viable DFS plays, we must focus on matchups where we believe the games will stay close and competitive or a team will be losing late and need to throw. For GPPs/tournaments, I tend to avoid Quarterbacks who are large Vegas favorites (14+ points), knowing that, if these favorites get out to a big lead early, they will stay between the tackles and run the ball most of the time. Letâs get into the plays for Week 2!

Targets And Touches: Week 1
Russell Clay provides the targets and touches from Week 1 of the NFL season. Targets and Touches is a weekly piece that dives into the structural usage of NFL teams from a fantasy football standpoint. Usage in NFL offenses dictates fantasy value. While some high-usage players arenât top-scoring fantasy assets, low-usage players can sometimes overcome with efficiency. The general principle that âthe more usage, the betterâ is the best advice any fantasy analyst can give. One of the best ways to identify breakout players before the consensus is to look to volume and increase in the role. One of the best ways to identify players destined to bounce back is to see whoâs still getting volume in offenses despite some negative results. Chasing fantasy points from previous weeks is one of the biggest blunders made in fantasy football, especially if those fantasy points donât tell an optimistic usage story. Each week this piece will provide a spreadsheet that contains both the full season target and touch totals, along with weekly target and touch totals, for every Running Back (RB), Wide Receiver (WR), and Tight End (TE).
First Look At Waivers For Week 2

Week 1 had some notable players go down with injuries, but the good news is that for the most part, none of the injuries appears to be season-ending. That said, some players could miss some time, which means that some players could see more opportunities in the upcoming weeks and roles could increase. We still have one game left on the Week 1 schedule, but there was plenty to take in this weekend. As I will be doing every Monday this season, I want to take an early look at the waivers, pointing out some players that stood out, those that I am prioritizing off waivers this week, as well as others that should be on your radar.
