Jets.com reports that QB Geno Smith and the Jets blew a 10-point fourth-quarter lead in a 20-17 overtime loss to the Packers on Sunday, September 20, as Green Bay’s Trey Smack hit a 26-yard field goal to win it. Smith completed 27-of-41 passes for 247 yards and a 5-yard touchdown to WR Garrett Wilson, but was sacked four times and hit ten times. RB Breece Hall caught five passes including a 43-yard gain, while the Jets’ run game was held to just 67 yards on 27 carries as Green Bay stacked the box. “We had the game right in our hands, and we didn’t finish,” Smith said. “There’s tons of room for improvement, but the time is now, so we got to get it done.” HC Aaron Glenn said, “I trust Geno… I think Geno was doing a solid job.” The Jets, now 1-1, next travel to face the Lions in Detroit.
