QUARTERBACK
| Old Rating | Name | New Rating | Rating Change |
| 86 | Baker Mayfield | 87 | 1 |
| 82 | J.J. McCarthy | 84 | 2 |
| 82 | Cam Ward | 84 | 2 |
| 81 | Kyler Murray | 84 | 2 |
There’s only slight adjustments to the mid tiers, but they’re adjustments worth making. As we get closer to the 2025 NFL season, it’s worth noting that dynasty startups are still the best base for valuing players. McCarthy and Ward have no NFL experience, but they have solid organizations around them and you’d assumed those franchises have plans for them. Beyond all that, if I’m drafting today it’s going to be hard to pass on them where they’re getting drafted.
I wouldn’t consider myself a Kyler Murray hater, in fact, I think he’s an incredibly special and rare talent. However, I’ve rarely seen him optimize those skills, and while he’s produced as a solid fantasy results at times, he’s entering year seven and yet to find any team success. He hasn’t always had a great team around him, but there’s no excuse now (Trey McBride and Marvin Harrison are awesome, and they have a good running game). With that said, I wasn’t taking into account his upside for 2025 enough, and for that, we’ll adjust him up.
RUNNING BACK
| OLD RATING | NAME | NEW RATING | CHANGE |
| 100 | Bijan Robinson | 98 | -2 |
| 82 | Bucky Irving | 84 | 2 |
| 77 | Christian McCaffrey | 78 | 1 |
Bijan Robinson is still my RB1, and I think he’s going to be amazing for the next 3+ seasons. So, let’s start there. He’s a 98 and that’s amazing, and that means he’s one of the most valuable fantasy RBs of all-time. With that said, there have been more valuable in the grand scheme, and that’s how we base these ratings. Can Robinson reach the fantasy highs of players like LaDainian Tomlinson, Emmitt Smith, Barry Sanders or Marshall Faulk? I’d lean heavily no, though he may get close. The 100 hadn’t felt right all summer, and I wanted him to shift down slightly. It’s July 23rd so we can spend time thinking about this Menial stuff!
WIDE RECEIVER
| OLD RATING | NAME | NEW RATING | CHANGE |
| 91 | Amon-Ra St. Brown | 93 | 2 |
| 86 | Ladd McConkey | 88 | 2 |
| 88 | Garrett Wilson | 87 | -1 |
| 77 | Emeka Egbuka | 79 | 2 |
We don’t need to move Godwin down too far with the injury news. If he makes a full recovery, we aren’t going to be worried about him for 2025, and his dynasty value is already solidified as a veteran. But, any chance that Godwin misses more time could be an enormous opportunity for Egbuka to get more snaps, and if he does, he’ll very likely shine. Ladd McConkey is fantastic and I’ve been wanting to move him up for a while. He doesn’t look like a traditional alpha wide receiver, but he runs a 4.3, showed excellent route-running and hands in year one, and is in an amazing situation with an excellent QB. McConkey should shine for years to come.
TIGHT END
| OLD RATING | NAME | New Rating | Change |
| 72 | Elijah Arroyo | 77 | 5 |
| 72 | Noah Fant | 70 | -2 |
| N/A | A.J. Barner | 68 | N/A |
The one big bit of Tight End news this weekend was Seattle. While the Seahawks drafting Elijah Arroyo in the second round was a bad sign for Fant long term, but I did not expect them to drop him entirely before the season started. I don’t think this will end Fant’s NFL career, but it’s another signal his amazing athleticism isn’t translating to NFL offenses again… In other news, this is great for Arroyo. A.J. Barner could prove to be frustrating, but if Arroyo can be what the Seahawks drafted him to be, very early in the draft, he’ll get a chance to prove himself early.
