University of Cincinnati WR Jeff Caldwell might have risen from late Day 3 consideration to the early part of Day 3 due to his hard work at the NFL Scouting Combine, and his ability to win balls in the red zone. He was the tallest receiver at the combine, measuring 6-foot-5, and he ran a 4.31-second 40-yard dash, second-best among receivers who clocked a time. However, evaluators see some rough edges in his game, and his route tree needs to be better. ‘I look at the board, and you don’t see many guys with that kind of length who run like that. He needs work, he needs coaching, he needs to attack the ball, but the traits are there,’ one AFC director of college scouting said.
