Last week was another strong week, going 17/24 on picks mentioned in this article, hitting at a 68% clip, which is right at where our season average is. I haven’t had any big wins so far this regular season, but the numbers and hit rate say those wins are coming, so keep that in mind if you are in the same boat. We’re still perfect on cover player articles on the year, going 6/6 for what that’s worth. This week, we’ve got a 10-game slate with six games via the early window and four games in the afternoon. You could split your plays on the early window vs. late, and generally, I like this approach, but I’m pretty locked in on a set of players this week and will likely just be doing one lineup on each site. The goal of this article is to provide some insight and transparency into my DFS & betting process and approach leading up to an NFL slate, along with picks and plays that I’ve landed on for this week in result. DFS Marlin’s Catch of the Week: NFL DFS & Betting Selections Week 6
Although I wasn’t profitable last week, this article itself hit at a high clip, and we are seeing success with our process so far. Last week’s selections were highlighted by the stud performance from Rico Dowdle, and overall, we hit at a 71% clip (20/28) from this article last week, which is higher than our average 65% hit rate, in effect raising that overall average a bit. Getting C.J. Stroud right was big because it feels like I’m starting to get into a rhythm with my QB selection now, too (although not perfect with Herbert falling flat on a 14-point outing after starting off strong last week). We’re still perfect on article cover players on the year, going 5/5 for what that’s worth. We’re humming right now, given our hit rate, and I’m feeling a big win is close here. Considering how the slate is set up with seven games early and just three in the afternoon, I’m likely only playing the main slate and will potentially have some game-time decision 4 PM lineups in mind to protect my main slate lineups this week. DFS Marlin’s Catch of the Week: NFL DFS & Betting Selections Week 5
Week 4 was a big week! We had some serious calls at single-digit ownership, headlined by Mahomes and Judkins. We hit on several players in the 10-20% range, including Warren, Jeanty, Flowers, and Worthy. We landed on the right chalk to incorporate as well with Hampton. Overall, this article last week went 14/21, hitting at a 67% clip and showing a consistent success rate on the year at about 65%. We’re also 4/4 on the article’s cover players this year, for what that’s worth. The only blemish last week was Lamar, but that was a big one since we were rolling him out as QB1. Overall, a very profitable week, but just missed knocking down a massive win. With that in mind, normally when you hit a spot in the season where you’re close to knocking down a tournament, you’re likely firing on all cylinders with your picks, and it’s a good time to ramp up your spend. I plan on going the heaviest so far this season for the Week 5 slate. DFS Marlin’s Catch of the Week: NFL DFS & Betting Selections Week 4
Week 3 started off incredibly promising, but a lot of my builds were quickly blown up after the Lamb injury to start the 4 PM games last week. Outside of Lamb, this article is hitting WRs at a very high clip, but underperforming on my picks at QB so far. We’ve been able to identify the correct premium TEs, but haven’t been hitting on the value plays quite yet either. It’s important to make sure we are investing in the spots we are performing well in, so in result, I will still be playing on both sites this week, but I will be heavier on FanDuel vs. DraftKings this week. I’m doing this because I’m more willing to pay up at QB & TE on FanDuel on a week-to-week basis (and I consider paying up for TE anything $5500+ FD/$4000+ DK). So far this year, we’re 3/3 on our cover article players. Last week, I was 14/22 on players listed, so hitting at a 63% clip on plays, very similar to how the first few weeks were, too. It was also a profitable couple of Monday night and Thursday night Showdown slates for me, so it feels like we’re heating up here going into Sunday.
