Armando Marsal’s NFL Recap – Week 12
Armando’s pages of notes from the day of football, along with key takeaways from this week in the NFL! As many of you already know, I don’t miss anything when it comes to the NFL or fantasy football. This is mostly because I watch every single snap of every single game every single week. I have hard drives full of every game that I go back and reference whenever there is something in question. I don’t do all of this for my health, quite the contrary. I do this for all of you. So that when you spend your time and/or money with us here at Fantasy Guru, you will always be in the know. So, every week once the dust settles, I will take my pages of notes from the day of football and put them into proper seasonal and daily fantasy context right here. For this season, I have brough along some help as Armando Marsal will be covering the injuries for us while Ted Schuster takes a break from his smoke break to provide us a few “Ted’s Takeaways” each week. DFS Marlin’s Catch of the Week: NFL DFS & Betting Selections Week 12
Last week was a losing week for me, as we were way below our season average of 65%, only going 12/31 on DFS plays, just a 38% hit rate. With that being said, it wasn’t all bad in the sense that the guys this article did hit on hit big, including our article cover player in WR Michael Wilson, who was WR1 on the week, scoring 36.5 fantasy points at just $3,800. That puts our article cover players’ hit rate at a solid 8/11 (73%). This week, we’ve got another 11-game slate with seven games via the early window and four games in the afternoon. I’m eyeing down a very similar approach to last week, with 4-5 main slate lineups this week at full units, with another 1.5U on the afternoon-only slate. The goal of this article is to provide some insight and transparency into my DFS & betting process and approach leading up to an NFL slate, along with picks and plays that I’ve landed on for this week in result. Generally, my goal for the season is to provide DFS plays that hit at a 65-70% clip, and we are just about doing that. Any given week, the approach and strategy may adjust, depending on what the slate looks like and how I want to attack it. We had a nice bounce-back week last week, going 14/22 and hitting at a 64% clip, which is right in line with this article’s average hit rate on the season. Last week’s cover player hit right away, now going 7/9 (78%) on cover players this year for what that’s worth, and it was surprising to see Jennings not be more involved after his initial TD, but nonetheless paid off at the low price point of $4,300.
