
Minnesota Vikings DT Shamar Stephen is expected to replace DT Michael Pierce, who opted out of the 2020 season, as the nose tackle in the Vikings’ defense. According to Chris Tomasson of the St. Paul Pioneer Press, head coach Mike Zimmer declared nose tackle will be a better position for Stephen than his usual three-technique defensive tackle, while code defensive coordinator Adam Zimmer recently said Stephen is ‘as good a nose (tackle) as there is.’
