Brolley was blessed with the mobility of Peyton Manning, but he lacked Manning’s encyclopedic football knowledge and his laser-rocket arm. Not surprisingly, colleges didn’t come calling for Brolley after four years as a high school quarterback in Western Pennsylvania. He decided to stay as close to the game as possible, so he studied journalism and took up sports writing at Penn State University. Brolley covered a variety of varsity sports while writing for The Daily Collegian, a student-run paper, including the football team.
Brolley joined Fantasy Guru as a senior writer in the summer of 2012, and he’s been one of the main contributors to the site’s content since then. He works closely with John Hansen and Joe Dolan to produce many of the site’s top articles. Brolley handles any fantasy questions that come into the Fantasy Guru Twitter account during the season. He can also be heard on The Fantasy Guru Podcast throughout the year, including during the season on the Down to the Wire podcast with Paul Kelly.
Brolley graduated from Penn State with a degree in journalism in 2008 and that summer he interned with the Reading Eagle in Reading, Pa. Before joining Fantasy Guru in 2012, he spent four years at The Citizens’ Voice in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., where he covered a lot of high school and Division III football in the fall. Brolley, from Ebensburg, Pa., has been a Pittsburgh sports fan since birth. He's still in shock that the Pirates' broke their 20-year streak of losing seasons in 2013.
Brolley has been on an impressive run in his own fantasy leagues, winning multiple titles each of the last few years. Feel free to tap into Brolley’s vast fantasy knowledge by following him on his Twitter handle @FG_Brolley.
