The Carolina Panthers don’t plan to name their starting quarterback until after the Friday, Aug. 19 preseason game, but could wait longer if none of the candidates separate themselves, according to head coach Matt Rhule on Saturday, Aug. 6. The top two candidates for the job are QBs Baker Mayfield and Sam Darnold.
