Indianapolis Colts SS Clayton Geathers (neck) may not be ready for the start of the season as there is still no timetable for his return. 'I can't tell you when Clayton is going to be available for us, but he's doing everything as far as the rehab and the meetings,' head coach Chuck Pagano said. 'He's just not practicing right now. Houston Texans OT Derek Newton restructured his contract to reduce his base salaries in 2017, 2018 and 2019 from $4.25 million to $1.75 million (guaranteed), $2.25 million (non-guaranteed) and $2 million (non-guaranteed). Newton has a $500,000 roster bonus this year and an annual $250,000 base salary de-escalator clause if he fails to complete workouts. In 2018, Newton has a $500,000 roster bonus as well as a $2 million total per-game active roster bonus. In 2019, Newton has a $1 million total per-game active roster bonus.
