New York Jets QB Sam Darnold (illness) has been limited in practice this week and while he said Thursday, Oct. 3, he feels ready to return Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles, he won’t risk his long-term health. ‘It’s a tough thing because you want to stay safe,’ he said Thursday. ‘I want to make sure that I’m safe out there and I’m not going to die.’ Darnold will undergo an ultrasound and a blood test Friday to ensure his previously enlarged spleen is suitable for playing.
