Jeff Mans breaks down everything you need to know to build safe, high-floor lineups for your cash games.
One down, seventeen more to go. Week one was a smashing success as we were able to propel our seasonal fantasy football research into quality DFS analysis. Specifically, paying up for the wide receivers proved to be the winning mechanism in the first week of this new season. In fact, for the first time in NFL history (back to 1980, anyway), the first four wide receivers taken in ADP finished as the top four points scorers in week one. But as great as Justin Jefferson, Davante Adams and Ja’Marr Chase did last week, it was the values of Michael Pittman, Tyreek Hill, Christian Kirk and Jarvis Landry that were the real difference makers.
If your lineup didn’t finish above the cash line last week, please do not freak out. The early weeks are always full of chaos, and merely surviving is our ultimate goal. I strongly advise you to take a look back at your contests and compare your lineup(s) to those that did indeed finish in the money. This is a quick and easy way of identifying where you may have gone wrong. I also highly recommend you read Patio Joe’s Cash Game Lineup Review article, where he breaks down how he built his lineup around the Core 4 this week.
