New York Giants RB Saquon Barkley (knee) said he felt good and took some good shots in pass protection, route running and running the ball in practice Thursday, Sept. 2. Barkley wore a band of foam rolled up underneath his right knee cap for comfort to help absorb pressure and stabilize the patellar tendon. Barkley said he still has work to get done because he has only practiced for three days after being out for 12 months. ‘I know whenever I’m able to get back out there, even if we don’t — you know, maybe it might be one quarter, maybe it might be one play — whatever the opportunity is, when I’m back out there, I know I’m gonna be able to go out there and be who I am and play how I am,’ Barkley said.
