Kansas City Chiefs WR Kadarius Toney was charged with three dropped passes in the team’s Week 1 loss to the Detroit Lions. One of the three drops resulted in an interception return for a touchdown. However, Patrick Mahomes made it clear to reporters Friday, Sept. 8, that Toney is still in his good graces.
‘Stuff’s not always going to go your way, obviously. (Toney) would’ve wanted to catch a few of those in the game. But I have trust that he’s going to be that guy that I go to in those crucial moments, and he’s going to make the catch and win us some seasons like he did last year. So we’re going to continue to work him in, get him more and more reps, and I’m sure those drops will kind of disappear,’ Mahomes said after the game.
