San Francisco 49ers QB Trey Lance is making a push for the team’s starting job, which for now remains in the hands of veteran Jimmy Garoppolo, general manager said Friday, Aug. 13, in a radio interview. Lynch stressed that the final call on the starting quarterback will be made by head coach Kyle Shanahan. ‘He makes the decisions on who’s playing and what not,’ Lynch said. ‘But I think it’s Jimmy’s right now and Trey’s pushing. I think that’s where it’s at.’
