Free-agent DL Akeem Spence (Commanders) signed a one-year deal with the San Francisco 49ers on Monday, Aug. 1. The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. In a corresponding move, the team placed DL Maurice Hurst (biceps) on season-ending injured reserve.
