Week Fifteen Sunday Online Updates (Will begin at 12pm ET)
Please Note: You must his reload/refresh to view the most current updates)

Late-breaking injury updates provided by our friends at the Pro Football News & Injury Report (footballinjuries.com
)

12:41: Jet RB Lamont Jordon is out.  Good news for Curtis Martin.

12:41
: Bear CB RW McQuarters is out, which is good news for the Jet passing game.

12:40
: Bengal WR Peter Warrick is out.

12:28
: Very surprising: ESPN reports that if Charger QB Drew Brees struggles we could see Doug Flutie this week.

12:20
: Seahawk QB Matt Hasselbeck will start.  Backup RB Maurice Morris is out. That helps Shaun Alexander's value.

12:16pm
: Charger WR Curtis Conway will start.

12:15pm: Steeler WR Hines Ward will start but he is not 100% and the team does not know how long his hamstring will hold up in the cold.

11:49
: Buc S John Lynch is out this week, but that doesn't matter too much for the Lion players.

11:49
: Lion RB James Stewart is out. Aveion Cason starts for Stewart and RB Rafael Cooper will back him up.

11:46am
: Let's give it up for our friends at footballinjuries.com.  The team just gave them the following update on WR Terrell Owens. "As of yesterday morning, his condition didn't improve so he was downgraded to questionable. However, he was feeling better last night and the percentage they gave us for him playing at this moment is 85% so he is expected to play."

11:40am: Raider CB Charles Woodson is inactive.  This is great news for the Dolphin passing game as both starting Raider corners are out.

11:25am
: No update

  • This Week's Monday Report – We be published online around 2pm Monday.

Quick Sunday Update

  • 49er starting WR Terrell Owens (groin) was downgraded from probable to questionable this weekend. Owens has not practiced all week, which is worrisome, but it’s also likely the reason he was downgraded. Unfortunately this game is a 4pm ET game, so we do not expect to have the final word on Owens (but we may have something online today). Considering Owens had a big game last week with this injury a factor, that he’s played all year banged up, and that this game has playoff implications, we would be surprised if he didn’t play.
  • Titan QB Steve McNair (ribs) did not practice on Saturday but he said his ribs were actually better than they were last week. He’s expected to start, of course.
  • Ram starting RB Marshall Faulk (ankle) is now considered doubtful to play tonight and it appears the Rams are resigned to taking a look at some of their younger players, namely RB Lamar Gordon, who is expected to start.
  • Charger starting WR Curtis Conway (shoulder) practiced on Friday, and is still expected to start today. While we’d start him if we needed him, we’d probably go with a comparable player if we had one over him because he’s still not 100%.
  • Steeler starting WR Hines Ward (hamstring) practiced on Friday and is expected to play today, but he’s not going to be 100%. Check our online updates for the latest on Ward.
  • Lion starting RB James Stewart (neck) is not expected to play and was downgraded to doubtful. If Stewart can’t play as expected the team would use a combination of both backup RBs Rafael Cooper and Aveion Cason. Even newly acquired RB Autry Denson could get a few carries.
  • Chief PK Morten Andersen (knee) is expected to kick today, but the team signed free agent Michael Husted to handle kickoffs and you never know if they’ll give Husted a chance to kick a long one, so he’s a risky play this week.
  • Viking backup RB Moe Williams (foot) was able to practice on Friday and will likely see limited time, possibly only a goal line carry here or there. Starter Michael Bennett is still expected to see more time than usual.
  • Jet backup RB Lamont Jordan (ankle) didn’t practice on Friday and the chances are good that he won’t play, according to footballinjuries.com
  • Bengal starting WR Peter Warrick (lung) didn’t practice on Friday and remains very questionable to play this week. WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh would start if Warrick can’t play. Do not play Warrick.
  • Chief starting WR Johnnie Morton suffered back spasms during Friday’s practice, according to footballinjuries.com, and his status remains a game-time decision. Backup WR Marc Boerigter would fill in if he can’t play.
  • Brown backup WR Dennis Northcutt (knee) is out.
  • It does not look good for Raider CB Charles Woodson (leg), but he’s likely a gametime decision, which he’s been several times this year. The more he’s looking like he’s out, the better Dolphin QB Jay Fiedler (and WR Chris Chambers) looks.
  • Bear CB R.W. McQuarters (hip) is looking very doubtful to start, so this is good news for the Jet passing game, specifically WR Laveranues Coles.
  • According to footballinjuries.com, Giant DE Michael Strahan (neck) is now considered very questionable to play today. If he someone misses this game that would obviously help the Dallas offense.

The following players are expected to play/start this week

  • Colt QB Peyton Manning (knee)
  • Bronco QB Brian Griese (knee)
  • Saint QB Aaron Brooks (shoulder)
  • Seahawk QB Matt Hasselbeck (foot) – He’s not 100% keep in mind
  • Panther QB Rodney Peete (groin)
  • Colt RB Edgerrin James (ankle)
  • Packer RB Ahman Green (knee) – Backup Tony Fisher is expected to get some carries.
  • Saint RB Deuce McAllister (ankle)
  • Chief RB Priest Holmes (shoulder)
  • Falcon RB Warrick Dunn (ankle)
  • Steeler RB Jerome Bettis (knee)
  • 49er RB Garrison Hearst (knee)
  • 49er RB Kevan Barlow (knee)
  • Eagle RB Dorsey Levens (shin)
  • Packer WR Terry Glenn (hip)
  • Seahawk WR Koren Robinson (thumb)
  • Dolphin WR James McKnight (ankle)
  • Buccaneer WR Joe Jurevicius (ankle)
  • Buccaneer WR Keenan McCardell (quad).
  • Jaguar TE Kyle Brady (ankles)
  • Panther TE Wesley Walls (foot)
  • Starting WR Muhsin Muhammad (groin)
  • Cowboy WR Joey Galloway (thumb)
  • Packer WR Robert Ferguson injured
  • Packer WR Javon Walker (ankle)
  • Bronco TE Shannon Sharpe (elbow)

Weather…or Not
Week Fifteen - Sunday Update

Indoor Games: Minnesota at New Orleans, Seattle at Atlanta, Tampa Bay at Detroit,

Arizona at St. Louis

Sunday, December 15

1:00 pm Eastern:

  • Baltimore at Houston – Looks like they won’t be needing that retractable roof in Houston today. There is no chance of any precipitation, the wind will be moderate at 9 mph, and the temperature will be near 70 degrees under sunny skies.
  • Carolina at Pittsburgh – Its should be mostly cloudy, with fairly strong winds (14 mph) adding to the usual wind problems at Heinz Field this afternoon. There is just a 10% chance of precipitation, and the high will be in the mid-to-upper 30s, although the wind will make it feel about 8 degrees colder.
  • Indianapolis at Cleveland – The forecast for Cleveland today includes mostly cloudy skies, a 20% chance of precipitation, high in the lower 40s, 14 mph wind, and it will feel about 8 degrees colder on the field.
  • Jacksonville at Cincinnati – It will be mostly cloudy today in Cincinnati, with the high near 50 degrees, no chance of rain, and the wind at 14 mph.
  • NY Jets at Chicago – Today at Memorial Stadium in Champaign, IL, it will be partly cloudy, with a high of 49 degrees, 12 mph wind, and no chance of rain.
  • Oakland at Miami – At gametime in Miami this afternoon, it will be about 70 degrees under partly cloudy skies, with no chance of rain and wind of about 8 mph.
  • San Diego at Buffalo – Today’s forecast for Ralph Wilson Stadium is for possible scattered snow showers, a high of 34 degrees (so the snow could be mixed with rain), and winds of 14 mph that will make it feel at least 8-10 degrees colder.
  • Washington at Philadelphia – At the Vet this afternoon, it will be partly cloudy, with the temperature in the low-to-mid-40s (but it will feel 6 degrees colder), no chance of precipitation, and 12 mph wind.

4:05 pm Eastern:

  • Kansas City at Denver – Today in Denver the high will be in the low 60s at the start of the game. Of course, the mercury will probably dip into the upper 40s before the last snap. But there is no chance of precipitation, and the wind will be at 8-10 mph.

4:15 pm Eastern:

  • Dallas at NY Giants – At the Meadowlands today, it should be partly cloudy with just a 10% chance of precipitation. The temperature will be in the mid-40s for this late afternoon start and the wind at 10-12 mph.
  • Green Bay at San Francisco – Today’s forecast for San Francisco doesn’t look too good for kickers, especially. There’s definitely a lot of rain and gusty wind that could adversely affect field conditions. There’s a 50% chance of rain at gametime, with the temperature in the mid-50s. But the important part of this forecast from a football perspective is that there is a WIND ADVISORY posted for the bay area all of today into Monday. That means that the wind will exceed 20 mph, probably in the 24-25 mph range during the game. That cannot help the passing game, although Packer QB Brett Favre could complete a deep out in a hurricane.

Monday, December 16

9:00 pm Eastern:

  • New England at Tennessee – The early forecast for Music City on Monday night is for cloudy skies, no chance of precipitation, a low of about 41 degrees, and light winds of 7 mph.
