How does a 2002 Guru Report subscription work?

Explained on this page:

Content Delivery/Contact Overview
Unlike competing publications that collect your money, issue you a password, and then leave you completely on your own all year, The Guru Report prides itself in keeping in close contact with its subscribers. The Guru Report is a service, not just a site.

Whenever we lift a finger, you‰ll either be e-mailed the content directly or will be notified by e-mail when we produce new content that is too large to e-mail. By the time the season is over, we'll likely e-mail you 140-150 times with full reports, notification that large reports have been posted online in our subscriber area, and breaking news updates. We also provide your own username and password, which will enable you to access our premium content whenever and wherever you want. And by checking our Subscriber Center page, you‰ll be able to check constantly on what we‰ve last produced and when we‰ve produced it and what is coming up next and when it will be published.

Here's exactly how a subscription works and what you‰ll get:

January-June 2002: Off-season Reports

  • Following the NFL is a 12-month endeavor, so we produce a series of off-season articles that are published roughly twice a month from January through June. These articles cover a wide-range of topics such as free agency, 2002 rookies and the draft, early sleepers, and much more and are e-mailed directly to subscribers and also available on the Web to subscribers.

July 2002: Pre-Preseason Report and July Updates

  • We start the pre-season off each July 1st with a huge "Pre" Preseason Report. This report last year was incredibly comprehensive and informative and was comprised of 16 editorial sections and well over 100 pages.
  • Since we are, at this point, very close to the beginning of our premium content and NFL training camps open the end of the month you can count on numerous updates being sent during the month of July.

August/September 2002: Preseason Reports

The NFL season kicks off on (Thursday) September 5th this season, so by starting our "official" preseason coverage on Friday, August 2, we‰ll provide a full 5 weeks of intense preseason coverage this season (and don‰t forget all the stuff we‰ll do in July).

Official Preseason Publishing Schedule:

Note: The content produced in the following preseason reports will total 750+ pages of news, analysis, player rankings and previews, sleepers, strategies, statistical analysis, and much more (with no fluff). For overviews on the actual content, check out our content page.

  • Preseason Report #1: Friday, August 2nd š Plus Breaking News E-mail Updates
  • Preseason Report #2: Monday, August 5th - Plus Breaking News E-mail Updates
  • Preseason Report #3: Friday, August 9th š Plus Breaking News E-mail Updates
  • Preseason Report #4: Monday, August 12th š Plus Breaking News E-mail Updates
  • Preseason Report #5: Friday, August 16th š Plus Breaking News E-mail Updates
  • Preseason Report #6: Monday, August 19th š Plus Breaking News E-mail Updates
  • Preseason Report #7: Friday, August 23rd š Plus Breaking News E-mail Updates
  • Preseason Report #8: Monday, August 26th š Plus Breaking News E-mail Updates
  • Preseason Report #9: Friday, August 30th š Plus Breaking News E-mail Updates
  • Preseason Report #10: Monday, September 2nd š Plus Breaking News E-mail Updates

Note: The week of September 2nd is the week leading up to Week One of the NFL season, so our normal in-season publishing schedule prevails (see below). However, since we know many of you have drafts that final weekend before Week One (even though there is a Thursday game), we continue to update our Preseason Player rankings through Friday, September 6th.

Preseason and In-season Technical Features

  • Custom Player Rankings - Subscribers are welcome to utilize our custom 2002 player rankings, which can be customized to several scoring systems and can incorporate several unique league rules. You tell us the number of points your league awards for things like TDs, yardage, receptions, 300-yard and 100-yard games, long receptions, etc. and we'll use our projections to rank the players using YOUR SCORING SYSTEM.  We also provide a generic yardage/TD player cheat sheet in each preseason report. The exact same holds true for each week during the regular season.
  • In-Season Roster Picker - During the season, you log in, give us your roster, the number of player you can start at each position, and your league's scoring rules, and we'll spit out a projected lineup complete with a quick sentence on each player's outlook for the week and even with an alert if one of your players is on our Injury Report.

  • In-Season Free Agent Roster Picker - During the season, you log in, give us the available players you're looking at and your league's scoring rules, and we'll spit out a ranking of the free agents based upon what we project them to average fantasy points-wise for the rest of the season.
  • In-Season Trade Analyzer - During the season, you log in, give us your league's scoring rules and the two sides of a proposed trade and we'll spit out the total fantasy points each side of the trade we project for the rest of the season to give you an idea who is getting the better end of the deal.
  • Player Search Feature š Subscribers are also welcome to utilize our constantly updated Player Search Feature. Simply log in, search any one of the 225+ players in our database, and immediately receive our projected stats for the player, a one-sentence "Gut Feeling" on the player, and a link to our latest injury report if the player is on it. This database is constantly updated, so you can retrieve up-to-date results at all times. The exact same holds true for each week during the regular season.
  • More technical enhancements coming soon for the 2002 season!
