The San Francisco 49ers are short on wide receivers, and they lost another one on Thursday.
Niners coach Jim Harbaugh announced Friday that rookie Quinton Patton will "miss some time" after suffering a fractured foot during Thursday's win over the St. Louis Rams.
Patton will not be placed on injured reserve, but it's unclear how long Patton will be sidelined.
Patton made his only catch of the season against the Rams on Thursday, and he gained no yards on the reception.
But he was designated as the team's No. 2 receiver for that game as the 49ers have problems at the wide receiver position.
The 49ers are already without Michael Crabtree, and Anquan Boldin has been the team's only reliable wide receiver over the first four games.
