Just missed it: Week Four

Once again, here are some RAW NOTES from our film reviews for the week that outline some big plays that were just missed in Week Four.

Sam Bradford missed any easy corner throw to Austin Pettis for a possible TD, two defensive backs jumped Tavon Austin route, pretty unacceptable throw.
Brandon Marshall could only get one foot down in end zone on 23-yard pass down sideline.
Calvin Johnson just can’t make a deep catch in the back of the end zone, as Matthew Stafford’s throw just a touch late
Alshon Jeffery drops a TD pass in end zone but catches the next throw against Slay in the end zone.
Marques Colston almost fought off double coverage for a TD at end of game
Mike Wallace had pass go right through his hands on a deep ball perfectly thrown by Tannehill
About 8 minutes Eli Manning to Hakeem Nicks on 1st and 10 at own 48, Nicks had ball go thru his hands on what could’ve been a 52-yard TD. As it turned out, Giants were penalized for holding on play so would’ve nullified the play anyway.
Alex Smith for Donnie Avery ahead of defender on left sideline for a big play, but he overthrew him.
Here’s one you don’t […]

Dynasy draft continues

This dynasty league draft continued over the weekend, and I made two ballsy picks, so let me break it down.

In the 4th round, after taking Cam Newton, Adrian Peterson, and Wes Welker to start my draft, I took Pittsburgh’s Antonio Brown.

Antonio Brown is an emerging player who could be special very soon

While Brown probably wouldn’t have lasted too much longer, this pick was a bit of a reach, especially since I took him over Marques Colston. Obviously, since this is a dynasty draft, I took Brown with the long-term in mind. The problem I had with Colston is I didn’t feel comfortable banking on him and his problematic knees since I’m already dealing with a serious injury issue with Peterson. Had I not had that injury-related issue, I would have taken the productive Colston, especially since he’s just signed a new deal.

I liked Brown because he’s obviously very young, but he showed flashes of potentially developing into a special player. The numbers may not show that, as he had a catch rate of only 57%, which isn’t great, but 16 yards a catch is pretty good and was right there with Mike Wallace. Brown actually had more targets last […]

And here we are. Week One. Thursday Night Football. A damp, fall-like evening in the Northeast. The perfect evening to kickoff the NFL’s 50th SuperBowl Season. I’m not going to lie, I have some butterflies in my belly. Maybe it’s because I just deposited $500 into an account at FantasyFued.com. Maybe it’s because I never […]
