12-team NFFC draft results (from 8/30)

Here are the results of the 12-team PPR 3rd round reversal NFFC 20-round draft I participated in last night in New York City.

I was pretty pleased with the draft and felt I was generally ahead of the curve. While I did have to pay a premium for some players early, I did get solid value for others later. In a high-stakes draft, you have to be very proactive and draft players you like 1-2 rounds earlier than their ADP.

Here a few other notes from the draft.

I’m not a big fan of the 3rd round reversal when you’re picking at the top of round one. So 1 pick after I made my second pick, 23rd overall, round 2 ended and round 3 started with the team that drafted 12th. In a normal draft, I would have had a crack at either Julius Thomas, Andre Ellington, Shane Vereen, Roddy White, or Keenan Allen. I would have taken a WR there, most likely Allen (although I do love Roddy). That made me use my third and fourth picks on Michael Floyd and Cordarrelle Patterson. I felt fortunate to get those two, but it would have been nice to get a crack at Allen. […]

8/24 projection update

Update:  There is no MNF game this week, so we’ll be doing a full projections/PDF/excel file update later this afternoon. You can generate a printable custom cheat sheet today that is as of Sunday evening.

Note: If you use the 1-page printable feature it does print out a pretty solid cheat sheet, updated today, it just spills into a second page.

To access the projections, just click “Projections” on the main navigation bar near the top of the page, or head here. You can access the custom cheat sheet here.

8/17 projection update

Just a quick note today for those drafting (Sunday, August 17, 2014) that I have updated projections taking into account the Friday and Saturday games.

The problem with doing this is our PDF cheat sheets and excel files are now behind what the projections and the custom cheat sheet have. When we do our main projection updates early and late in the week, it’s a MAJOR undertaking that takes about 10-12 hours of work by three different people, so this time of the year bothers me because I know people are drafting and want the latest information.

If that’s you, you can generate a printable custom cheat sheet today (or Monday) that is as of Sunday morning (I could certainly do another update before our big update with all the PDFs and excel files, and I will likely wait until the MNF game before I do that).

The custom cheat sheet isn’t as good as the PDFs, but again if you want the most current rankings and projections, it has it. Also note that the MyGuru app will also be updated today with these current projections.

To access the projections, just click “Projections” on the main navigation bar near the top of the page, […]

I recently completed my first ever MFL10 with subscribers and Twitter followers. I’m using MFL10s to get draft practice and to get an early feel for where players could be drafted later this summer. I’ve also done an industry draft – you can call it an “expert draft” if you’d like – so I’m already two […]

  • Fantasy Kickers and the New Extra-Point Rule May 20, 2015
The long-rumored and predicted rule change in the NFL passed at the owners’ meetings this week – extra points are officially moving from the two-yard line to the 15, changing them from the near-automatic equivalent of a 19-yard field goal to a 33-yard kick. If a team wants to attempt a two-point conversion, the ball […]

I recently finished up a #MFL10 draft that I put together with some of my followers on Twitter, a practice that Tom Brolley, Matt Camp, and I will be continuing throughout the summer with our friends at MyFantasyLeague. It’s a great way to scratch your fantasy itch early, and to shake off some rust and […]
