I have been absolutely buried lately, so I have not had time to cover this league. Things have not gone well. In Week Five, I got destroyed by injuries, as I lost my bye week fill-in Bruce Gradkowski early in his game, and I also lost my stud TE in Jermichael Finley and WR Mark Clayton, who I started based on his great matchup. So I lost in Week Five, and I’m probably done in this league after also losing a close one in Week Six, despite having a very good week. I picked up Nick Folk, Minnesota’s defense, and TE Brandon Pettigrew, and they all came though, but it wasn’t enough.
So now I’m down Finley, Clayton, Portis (still kicking myself for not getting Torain the weekend he was activated off the practice squad, no time), and now also Malcom Floyd (who’s injury last week likely cost me a win).
But I’m not giving up, and this week I picked up Mike Williams (Sea) for this PPR, and I grabbed PK Mike Nugent, since he’s been really good. I tried to get Seattle or KC on the WW for my defense, but was unable to. With Pettigrew off, I picked up Todd Heap, who is getting the ball and has a good matchup this week. I have Minnesota now, and I might pick up Washington, who get the Bears this week.
Here’s my starting lineup this week in this PPR
QB: Tom Brady
RB: Adrian Peterson
RB: Willis McGahee – Horrible #2, but great matchup this week.
WR: Jeremy Maclin
WR: Greg Jennings
WR: Mike Williams (TB)
Flex: Mike Williams (Sea)
TE: Todd Heap
PK: Mike Nugent
DT: Minnesota or Washington
I’m 3-3, and as you can see, I’m probably done.
10/24 Update: Now that I have some time to pick guys up in my leagues, I did grab TE Jacob Tamme. With Dallas Clark on IR, he could me offset my loss of Jermichael Finley.
