It’s a stash-and-hope kind of year

One thing I'm noticing this year is the abundance of stash-and-hope RBs this year, so while this is all covered on the site, here's a very quick look at the best ones. These are mostly non-obvious one, so please don't ask why I didn't include McCoy, Mendenhall, etc. Bernard Scott, Cin - Again, I like him a lot. He's very talented, and Cedric Benson is no gemstone. Danny Ware, NYG - Really impressed with his receiving ability, which bodes very well for him. If Brandon Jacobs goes down, Ware's going to play a lot. I still like Ahmad Bradshaw more, but Ware ...

Straggler situations to watch

I wanted to check in here, if for no other reason than the fact that I haven't in a while. Obviously, I've been overwhelmed keeping up with everything we're going for the site. This has been the busiest summer yet for me, and while that is a very good thing, my head is spinning. These next 10-12 days are going to be even worse. I'm sorry if I can't answer all the questions on this blog the last week or two. I just can't handle it all. Hopefully, you're liking the content we're cranking out, and how we're updating so much stuff ...

Who wants to lay the smack down on me in fantasy high-stakes leagues?

And this year, I'm in a lot of them. So if anyone wants to try to lay the smack down on me this year, read on. First of all, there's Rotobowl.com, which is the main high stakes league I've been involved in since its inception. The live draft is in Atlantic City, NJ, which is 5 minutes from my house. This is a 12-team PPR draft with 2 Flex starters, which I like a lot. The hook with this league is that it's very affordable. For only $250, you can get in this league, with a partner, win $900 for your league, ...

Beware of Internet Icons

I have to give credit where credit is due with the subject title: my boy Caplan came up with the term "Internet Icon" when talking about players who become over-hyped on the Net in the month of August. Hey, I've been guilty of over-hyping some players in the past, and I'll likely do it again, but one thing I've learned is that you can't talk yourself into a player just because you like his talent and you're looking to catch lightening in a bottle. Sometimes, people get overly enamored with players, and they ignore some facts, and, quite frankly, reality. I see ...

NFL.com Draft today

Today at 1pm ET I have the official NFL.com expert league draft, this is the real deal, not a mock draft. I'm the defending champ, and I'm going to try to focus on this one and do well. I have the 11th pick, so it will be interesting to see if I'm inclined to go RB-WR, WR-WR, or RB-RB. All three are viable moves, depending on who's there. I'll post my picks as they come starting just after 1pm ET. 1:25 Update: As I did last year, I'm playing to win, and trying hard to avoid over-paying for a QB. I won this ...
