Scaife is not Chafe

As readers probably know, I am really “feeling” Bo Scaife this year. We’ve been right on a lot of TEs over the years, but we’ve also been wrong. Usually, when we’re wrong, it’s because we become enthralled with a player’s jaw-dropping athletic ability. Ben Troupe would be the best example. Troupe, as we’ve seen, simply can’t stay healthy.

The difference between Scaife and Troupe is that we’re not high on Scaife’s athletic ability, although he is a solid athlete. With Scaife, it’s all about his production, and the guy produces. It’s also about his situation, and it’s crystal clear he will be a huge part of this offense, if not Vince Young’s go-to guy.

So as of right now, I’m ok ranking Scaife #12 at TE. That’s a fantasy starter in a 12-team league, but what’s so attractive is you can get him ridiculously cheap, although his stock should be rising now after another good preseason game this weeekend.

Hope you are right John. Got him in round 19 of a 23 round IDP draft, and I got Rex in Round 18. Winslow is my starter, so I think thats good value for Scaife so late.
