Champagne for Everybody, Courtesy of Billy Ray Valentine!

Hey Gang,

As usual time is tight during the week, but thought I’d check in with a teaser.

If I tossed the names Randolph and Mortimer Duke out there would you know what I’m talking about? They were brothers who had a raging debate: were people primarily products of their gentics or their environment?

Could they take a person of questionable upbringing and mold him into an upstanding citizen, while simulataneously destorying the life a silver-spooned, high society snob, turning him into a common criminal?

The movie is “Trading Places” (which is based on an old Three Stooges short) and was the breakout movie for one, Eddie Murphy. But the flick’s central theme also resonates in the NFL and the NFL Draft, in particular.

Are players primarily a product of their God-given talent or the environment – the opportunity for playing time – in which they find themselves?

It’s a question key to dynasty league success and one that I intend to explore in depth in this space soon. Look for the discussion to begin in my next post.
