First Expert Draft of the Season

The fantasy season is officially underway because I’m drafting in my first expert league today, in about 20 minutes exactly (I’m writing this at 12:42 pm ET).

I have the 3rd pick, and I’m actually hoping I do NOT have to take RB Larry Johnson. I’d rather have Steven Jackson at this point, but I have decided to take LJ if the draft starts off with LT and SJ. We’ll see what happens. I will be logging my picks with some analysis as the draft progresses.

1:07: As I expected, it went LT and SJ, so I took Johnson. Had to do it, this is only 1/2 pt per catch. First draft of the season, first pick, first tough call. It’s shaping up to be an annoying season already!

1:12: Here’s the first round:

Round 1
12 Matt Pitzer Brian Westbrook (RB PHI)
11 Peter Schoenke Laurence Maroney (RB NE)
10 Adam Caplan Ronnie Brown (RB MIA)
9 Eric Karabell Peyton Manning (QB IND)
8 Andy Behrens Rudi Johnson (RB CIN)
7 Mike Fabiano Willie Parker (RB PIT)
6 William Del Pilar Frank Gore (RB SF)
5 Matt Berry Joseph Addai (RB IND)
4 Tom Kessenich Shaun Alexander (RB SEA)
3 John Hansen Larry Johnson (RB KC)
2 Dave Richard Steven Jackson (RB STL)
1 Greg Ambrosius […]

If a team wants to attempt a two-point conversion, the ball […]

I recently finished up a #MFL10 draft that I put together with some of my followers on Twitter, a practice that Tom Brolley, Matt Camp, and I will be continuing throughout the summer with our friends at MyFantasyLeague. It’s a great way to scratch your fantasy itch early, and to shake off some rust and […]

  • The LeSean McCoy Trade, RB Declines, and Chip Kelly March 4, 2015
If you’re a 24/7/365 football nut, chances are you’ve already digested just about all you can about yesterday’s blockbuster LeSean McCoy/Kiko Alonso trade between the Eagles and Bills. I’ve gone on record on Twitter saying I don’t like the deal for Buffalo – McCoy is an eight-figure back coming off a down year, still a […]
