Palmer, Johnson may be #1 for me

One of my favorite e-mails from 2006 was from a guy blasting us for continually ranking Chad Johnson high in our weekly rankings. I liked the e-mail because two days after we received it, Johnson caught 11 balls for 260 yards and 2 TDs.

There are times when people on our boards question a ranking for a particular week before the games are played, and they wind up being correct, but that doesn’t mean we were wrong in our stance on the player going into the matchup.
Fantasy football is less of an exact science than it’s ever been, so in a guy like Johnson’s case, you just have to give the player the benefit of the doubt.

I do think Johnson hurts himself at times by his antics off the field, although his antics are merely child’s play compared to a guy like Terrell Owens’. If you follow along over at my Twitter account @FG_Dolan (shameless plug), you’ve probably noticed my undying love for Jordy Nelson, and the fact that I’d happily welcome him onto any of my fantasy teams this year. First of all, he’s madly productive as is: he hauled in 85/1314/8 last year and averaged 16.5 FPG in a PPR league. That was good enough to rank h […]

  • 12-Team PPR Mock Auction Review, Strategy, and Lessons Learned June 5, 2014
On somewhat of a whim, I decided to do some mocking on Wednesday night, but instead of trying to compare ADP numbers and working out the best spots to pick from, my idea was to run an auction. We ended up getting a 12-team PPR mock auction with a $200 cap done in a few hours, although with the informal atmosphere, a handful of teams ended up going on autodra […]
