Thank God for the Shins

Subscribers to the site have seen our Super Bowl rankings and projections and today we’ll also post our Game Center info on the game. I’m pretty burned out from the Super Bowl coverage already, so this is a good time to cover a non-football topic on my mind.

I’ve always been more of a commercial guy when it comes to music and I get most of my exposure to new music from either Sirius Channel 21 (alternative nation), Fuse TV, or a tiny bit of VH1. Luckily for me all of my favorite newer bands have released albums the last 2-3 years: The following bands in the following order: Green Day, Weezer, Foo Fighters, Coldplay, The Strokes, and finally The Killers this past October. I saw 12 concerts featuring these six bands over the last 24 months or so. I have a tendency to burn myself out of new music from overplaying, and I was just about done with these six records for at least a half a year.
