Fantasy Guru Daily: 5/6/11

There has been no ruling yet on the NFL request for a stay of the injunction against the lockout. I am running out of ways to say that every day. Until there is one or the appeal is heard in early June, we’ll continue to have some minor stories on the Daily!

The Cardinal QB Situation

Normally, by this time of year, we’d have at least some guess at who will be starting Week One for all 32 teams. Obviously, the lockout has stripped us of that security this year for a good handful of teams. None of these teams are more puzzling than the Arizona Cardinals, who were brutal at the position last year and didn’t spend a draft pick on a QB this year. That’s led to all kinds of speculation, and at least four big names have been linked to the Cardinals over the past few weeks.

First, rumors started that the Cardinals had “an agreement” in place with free agent veteran Marc Bulger, one that would be consummated as soon as personnel moves are allowed. But that was reported before the draft, and would have suggested one of two things: either the Cardinals were going to draft a QB [...]

  • 12-team PPR IDP Mock Draft results June 4, 2015
I have been buried since the NFL draft doing our post-draft work, 2015 projections, and more, so I didn’t get a chance to post a draft I participated in for most of May (slow draft). It’s for Athlon Sports’ fantasy magazine, so I can’t publish the entire draft. But here’s my team. This league stars 1 QB, 2 RBs, 3 WRs, 1 Flex, 1 TE, 1 PK, 1 DT, 1 DL, 1 LB, 1 […]

  • First draft of the 2015 season April 14, 2015
Although it is disgustingly early for a 2015 fantasy football draft for most, we are closing in on the time of the year when a draft is at least viable. Free agency is basically over, so all we have to wait for now is the draft. I’ve also been intrigued with what our friends at myfantasyleague.com have been doing with their MFL10s. It’s a great idea for the […]

  • Week 17 storylines December 26, 2014
Here are the top stories I’m following for Week 17 Cleveland (7-8) at Baltimore (9-6) Brown QB situation. Brian Hoyer (right shoulder/biceps) did not practice Friday. Rookie Connor Shaw is set to start for them at Baltimore. Do they give Terrance West any snaps to evaluate him? He played 0 snaps last week. Does Josh Gordon do anything to leave us something t […]
