Fantasy Guru Daily: 2/17/11

It may be all quiet on the CBA front, but that has not stopped teams from weighing their options and preparing for the future. Of course, if you are the Raiders, big contracts get handed out even with no certainty of a 2011 season.

The Giants appear to realize just how valuable Ahmad Bradshaw is after his fantastic 2010 campaign.

Ahmad Bradshaw isn’t going anywhere … according to the Giants, who told the player he’s a “big priority” in their off-season plans. Bradshaw just had ankle surgery, which he said went “great” and interestingly enough it was fumbles, not injury issues, that were a problem for him in 2010. He set career highs in carries (276), rushing yards (1235), TDs (8), receptions (47), and receiving yards (314) despite losing his starting job down the stretch to Brandon Jacobs, who may not be back in 2011 because of his high salary.

Richard Seymour signs extension … with the Raiders for two years worth $30 million. Reportedly, the new deal guarantees $22.5 million with a $7.5 million bonus that kicks in this season. By signing Seymour now, the Raiders don’t have to use the franchise tag on him again, which means the reports of [...]

Fantasy Guru Daily: 2/8/11

With the 2010 season in the books, we now move on to what should be a very interesting off-season. Speculation on the labor deal, free agency, and further coaching changes are in full swing, so let us take a look at the latest news from around the league.

Royal clicked better with QB Kyle Orton in their second year together, but his role will probably never be as big as it was when Jay Cutler was under center.

Eddie Royal undergoes hip surgery … and could be out for up to six months. While he could return for OTAs in May (if they take place), the recovery may end up keeping him sidelined even longer. Despite the injury, Royal didn’t miss any games in 2010 and caught 59 balls for 627 yards and 3 TDs playing primarily out of the slot. Royal is entering his fourth season in the league and the final year of his rookie deal.

Darrelle Revis wants Chad Ochocinco … to join him as a member of the New York Jets. Revis said he’s been in Ochocinco’s ear during the last week and believes the veteran receiver could do well as a Jet. However, Ochocinco [...]

Here are all the story lines I’m following for fantasy in Week Seven.  N.Y. Jets (1-5) at New England (4-2)  Who will carry the load at RB for the Patriots? You’d have to think this week it will be Brandon Bolden, since James White is inactive and Jonas Gray was just signed off the practice squad today and is active. Can Bandon LaFell keep it up and emerge a […]

Here are the top stories I’ll be following this week in the NFL… Indianapolis (3-2) at Houston (3-2) Can the Colts maintain their high level of play with 2 starters on the OL out tonight? Can Trent Richardson bounce back from a poor game last week against a tough Raven defense? Can Dwayne Allen score yet again and remain a huge factor? He’s being moved all o […]

  • Week 5 story lines October 3, 2014
Here are 88 story lines I’ll be following in Week 5 . Minnesota (2-2) at Green Bay (2-2) Will the Vikings continue to play like they did last week? It wasn’t a typical Norv Turner offense, more like Seattle’s with Russell Wilson. Teddy Bridgewater was smart about not exposing himself to hits, but he did get banged up in only one start and he might miss the g […]
