Sirius Business: 49ers, Ravens Tidbits

Hey everyone. Matt Camp and I had a pair of interesting guests stop by on Sirius XM Fantasy Football (Sirius 211, XM 147) this weekend, and we were able to talk 49ers and Ravens. Here are some of the more interesting tidbits:

Matt Barrows covers the 49ers for the Sacramento Bee (@mattbarrows on Twitter):

The 49ers are indeed trusting their 2010 season to Alex Smith at the QB position, and they really aren’t worried about it. They understand Smith’s limitations, but so does Smith, and having a second year in Jimmy Raye’s offense might work wonders for Smith, who has never had the same offensive coordinator in consecutive seasons in his entire NFL career. Barrows argues that the 49ers’ “weaponry” is the best its been since Jerry Rice and Terrell Owens were the starting receivers, even though the Niners plan to run a conservative approach offensively. Coach Mike Singletary wants to play like he did during his playing days in Chicago: defense and running the football. The 49ers have the personnel to do that.

RB Frank Gore could be a big get in the 1st round this year.

  • Week 7 story lines October 17, 2014
Here are all the story lines I’m following for fantasy in Week Seven.  N.Y. Jets (1-5) at New England (4-2)  Who will carry the load at RB for the Patriots? You’d have to think this week it will be Brandon Bolden, since James White is inactive and Jonas Gray was just signed off the practice squad today and is active. Can Bandon LaFell keep it up and emerge a […]

Here are the top stories I’ll be following this week in the NFL… Indianapolis (3-2) at Houston (3-2) Can the Colts maintain their high level of play with 2 starters on the OL out tonight? Can Trent Richardson bounce back from a poor game last week against a tough Raven defense? Can Dwayne Allen score yet again and remain a huge factor? He’s being moved all o […]

Here are 88 story lines I’ll be following in Week 5 . Minnesota (2-2) at Green Bay (2-2) Will the Vikings continue to play like they did last week? It wasn’t a typical Norv Turner offense, more like Seattle’s with Russell Wilson. Teddy Bridgewater was smart about not exposing himself to hits, but he did get banged up in only one start and he might miss the g […]
