Fantasy Guru Daily: 4/19/11

While the NFL and its players return to mediation today, we will instead focus on football. Could McNabb head to Minnesota? Could the London game actually take place in Tampa? We are on the edge of our seats waiting to find out.

A new home for McNabb? … We’ll take any chance we can get to talk free agency/trades, even if it’s all speculation at this point.

A young Brett Favre is not walking through the Metrodome door. Could it be McNabb's turn?

Everyone’s sick of the understandable but tiring “all lockout, all the time” NFL news cycle, so let’s take some time to speculate on the future of Donovan McNabb. A year ago, the long-time Eagle QB was surprisingly dealt within the division to the Redskins to make room for Kevin Kolb. Well, now Kolb might be on his way out of Philly, Michael Vick is the new star, and McNabb fell behind Rex Grossman of all people in Washington. It’s hard to imagine McNabb will return to Washington next season, and given the unsettled QB situations across the NFL, he should have plenty of suitors despite a lousy 2010 season. Arizona and Miami would be among the logical destinations, as [...]

Fantasy Guru Daily: 2/1/11

Welcome to a Tuesday edition of the Fantasy Guru Daily, where we brave the Dallas snow from our office in New Jersey to bring you the news of the day. Today is Super Bowl Media Day, meaning there will be an endless supply of stories in tomorrow’s newspapers. For now, there’s plenty of news happening elsewhere in the league.

Bratkowski out in Cincy … The Bengals fired OC Bob Bratkowski on Monday after a 10-year tenure in Cincinnati that resulted in two playoff appearances (2005 and 2009) but eight seasons with losing records. Perhaps the most disappointing season was this one, as the Bengals entered with high hopes but went just 4-12. QB Carson Palmer’s career has gone downhill, and he even asked to be traded two weeks ago. The Bengals finished 13th in passing, 27th in rushing, and 22nd in scoring. They often played from behind, and RB Cedric Benson struggled to get into a rhythm, causing the rushing offense to drop from 9th to 27th. Despite meeting with Marvin Lewis recently, former Viking HC Brad Childress will reportedly not be Bratkowski’s replacement.

And the Defensive Player of the Year is … Steeler S Troy Polamalu edged Packer LB Clay [...]

  • The latest projections August 30, 2015
Every year on this very day I am faced with the dilemma of having rankings that, despite being less than 2 days old, feel a little stale because of all the action in the critical third preseason game. The problem is it takes forever to update projections, comments, create the PDFs, create the excel files, and update all the apps. It cannot be done over the w […]

  • 8/17 USA Today mock draft August 19, 2015
I did an expert mock draft for USA Today and their special fantasy preview publication that will hit newsstands next week. I admittedly didn’t focus on the just the draft (I was working on several things at the time) and I simply queued up a bunch of players I liked. It wasn’t efficient at all, and I only like the squad (not love), but for what it’s worth th […]

  • 12-team PPR IDP Mock Draft results June 4, 2015
I have been buried since the NFL draft doing our post-draft work, 2015 projections, and more, so I didn’t get a chance to post a draft I participated in for most of May (slow draft). It’s for Athlon Sports’ fantasy magazine, so I can’t publish the entire draft. But here’s my team. This league stars 1 QB, 2 RBs, 3 WRs, 1 Flex, 1 TE, 1 PK, 1 DT, 1 DL, 1 LB, 1 […]
