Fantasy Guru Daily: 4/25/11

It is possible, if not likely, that a major step in the Brady v. NFL case will be taken today. And oh yeah, Brandon Marshall got stabbed. So in summation, it is just a usual case of the Mondays in the Fantasy Guru Daily.

Judge Nelson’s decision could come on Monday… For more than two weeks, Judge Susan Nelson has sat on her decision whether to issue an injunction against the NFL’s lockout in the Brady v. NFL case. Now, sources close to the case believe that decision will come Monday. To summarize, an injunction (requested by the players) would block the NFL’s lockout as illegal and would force the owners to open the doors of the league. Of course, it’s not going to be that simple. Should Nelson rule in favor of the players, as most expect, it seems likely that she will grant a stay of the injunction, pending the NFL’s appeal to the 8th Circuit Appellate Court, meaning we’ll have to wait for a decision on the appeal to actually learn anything definitively. Should the players win this decision, the NFL will immediately ask Nelson to grant a stay, pending appeal. Should Nelson deny that request, the request [...]

  • 12-team PPR IDP Mock Draft results June 4, 2015
I have been buried since the NFL draft doing our post-draft work, 2015 projections, and more, so I didn’t get a chance to post a draft I participated in for most of May (slow draft). It’s for Athlon Sports’ fantasy magazine, so I can’t publish the entire draft. But here’s my team. This league stars 1 QB, 2 RBs, 3 WRs, 1 Flex, 1 TE, 1 PK, 1 DT, 1 DL, 1 LB, 1 […]

  • First draft of the 2015 season April 14, 2015
Although it is disgustingly early for a 2015 fantasy football draft for most, we are closing in on the time of the year when a draft is at least viable. Free agency is basically over, so all we have to wait for now is the draft. I’ve also been intrigued with what our friends at myfantasyleague.com have been doing with their MFL10s. It’s a great idea for the […]

  • Week 17 storylines December 26, 2014
Here are the top stories I’m following for Week 17 Cleveland (7-8) at Baltimore (9-6) Brown QB situation. Brian Hoyer (right shoulder/biceps) did not practice Friday. Rookie Connor Shaw is set to start for them at Baltimore. Do they give Terrance West any snaps to evaluate him? He played 0 snaps last week. Does Josh Gordon do anything to leave us something t […]
