We recently received an email to the website asking us our personal feelings of the so-called “Zero RB” strategy that’s popped up in fantasy circles, but only seems to have exploded in recent years. As an avid fantasy player, I don’t subscribe to just one method of roster construction, but instead remain open to using whatever method I feel gives me the best chance of building a championship roster.
One question I get every year that, frankly, drives me nuts goes something like this: “Hey Joe, if I draw the #3 overall pick, is it best to go RB/WR/WR to open my draft, WR/RB/WR, or WR/WR/RB?” In my mind, this is an impossible question to answer. It’s entirely dependent on the players available at that given time. And never has that been more true than this year, when the #1 pick is as unappealing as I’ve seen it, and it’s possible the #1 player on your personal board falls out of the top five in any given draft.
