Fantasy Guru Daily: 6/2/11

We promised ourselves we would stay away from the NFL labor situation in the FG Daily, mostly because there was no real news to report and we would end up just saying the same thing over and over again. Well, that kind of changed today, so we figure it’s worth mentioning, and it comes when there’s little else to talk about, as well…

Apparently, they actually looked at each other this week.

NFL, NFLPA participate in “secret” meeting… In perhaps the biggest labor negotiation news since March, representatives from the NFL and NFLPA, including Roger Goodell and DeMaurice Smith, met face-to-face in Chicago on Tuesday and Wednesday, and it certainly wasn’t just for a slice of deep-dish pizza (although we can’t confirm whether or not there was pizza present). The significance of this meeting is obvious: this was an unplanned, non-court-ordered session of labor talks, that was so secretive even several NFL owners did not know about it, and there were NO LAWYERS (outside of Smith) present. Here are all the story lines I’m following for fantasy in Week Seven.  N.Y. Jets (1-5) at New England (4-2)  Who will carry the load at RB for the Patriots? You’d have to think this week it will be Brandon Bolden, since James White is inactive and Jonas Gray was just signed off the practice squad today and is active. Can Bandon LaFell keep it up and emerge a […]

Here are the top stories I’ll be following this week in the NFL… Indianapolis (3-2) at Houston (3-2) Can the Colts maintain their high level of play with 2 starters on the OL out tonight? Can Trent Richardson bounce back from a poor game last week against a tough Raven defense? Can Dwayne Allen score yet again and remain a huge factor? He’s being moved all o […]

Here are 88 story lines I’ll be following in Week 5 . Minnesota (2-2) at Green Bay (2-2) Will the Vikings continue to play like they did last week? Teddy Bridgewater was smart about not exposing himself to hits, but he did get banged up in only one start and he might miss the g […]
