Fantasy Guru Daily: 4/12/11

The news cycle has really slowed down since free agency cannot yet begin and the draft is still two weeks away. Once either of those things happen, we will finally be able to assess actual football teams. Until then, we have to speculate on mediation and courts and whatnot, and yeah, it still sucks to do that. Oh well.

Judge Nelson appoints Judge Arthur Boylan to mediate talks… The NFL and decertified NFLPA are meeting in a Minneapolis court in mediated settlement settings this week, as ordered by Judge Susan Nelson, who is overseeing the Brady v. NFL case. Nelson is expected to take another week or so to issue her ruling on the NFLPA’s request to block the NFL’s lockout, and in the meantime she ordered the two sides into Judge Boylan’s court for mediated sessions. She also issued a strict gag order; you might remember federal mediator George Cohen doing the same, but there is a difference. As an appointee of Judge Nelson’s court, Judge Boylan actually holds authority over these sessions. If, in Judge Boylan’s opinion, either side is being unreasonable or difficult without cause, he can report to Judge Nelson. It’s possible, then, that Judge Nelson could [...]

Here are the top stories I’m following for Week 17 Cleveland (7-8) at Baltimore (9-6) Brown QB situation. Brian Hoyer (right shoulder/biceps) did not practice Friday. Rookie Connor Shaw is set to start for them at Baltimore. Do they give Terrance West any snaps to evaluate him? He played 0 snaps last week. Does Josh Gordon do anything to leave us something t […]

Here are the top stories that I will be following in Week 16 for fantasy. Philadelphia (9-5) at Washington (3-11) Robert Griffin III did play better last week, but does it mean anything? It’s hard to trust him even against a beatable secondary and a defense that lost a top pass rusher in Trent Cole. If you’re playing in Week 17, can you trust DeSean Jackson, […]

  • Week 15 storylines December 13, 2014
Here are the top stories I’ll be following in Week 15 with some insight on some of them. Pittsburgh (8-5) at Atlanta (5-8) Will Julio Jones play? It’s obviously a huge key for Matt Ryan’s ability to hang with the Steelers in a high-scoring game. Without Jones, they have no explosiveness in the passing game and Ryan will have to dink-and-dunk to Roddy White a […]
