STEELERS OFFENSE V. CHARGERS DEFENSE

Steelers came out throwing: First 3 plays, all were 1st down plays – The Steelers offensive approach is clearly the pass sets up the run, Stretch the field horizontally and vertically first and that creates running lanes
Mendenhall downhill decisiveness and explosiveness, He ran with power and great body lean – Great job pressing the hole and impacting second level defenders
Mendenhall showed the ability to stop and start, Good change of direction and acceleration
Steelers started their second drive with 4 consecutive Mendenhall runs, for 20 yds
Steelers high percentage formations with Holmes the single receiver to one side, Often dictates the “x iso” matchup with Holmes one-on-one versus the corner
Chargers made a lot of assignment mistakes, Played with a glaring lack of discipline
Chargers generated no consistent pass rush pressure on Roethlisberger, whether it was from their base 3-4 or their 4 DL in the nickel
Chargers 3 DL in their base 3-4 front were consistently moved in the run game

Here are all the story lines I’m following for fantasy in Week Seven.  N.Y. Jets (1-5) at New England (4-2)  Who will carry the load at RB for the Patriots? You’d have to think this week it will be Brandon Bolden, since James White is inactive and Jonas Gray was just signed off the practice squad today and is active. Can Bandon LaFell keep it up and emerge a […]

Here are the top stories I’ll be following this week in the NFL… Indianapolis (3-2) at Houston (3-2) Can the Colts maintain their high level of play with 2 starters on the OL out tonight? Can Trent Richardson bounce back from a poor game last week against a tough Raven defense? Can Dwayne Allen score yet again and remain a huge factor? He’s being moved all o […]

  • Week 5 story lines October 3, 2014
Here are 88 story lines I’ll be following in Week 5 . Minnesota (2-2) at Green Bay (2-2) Will the Vikings continue to play like they did last week? It wasn’t a typical Norv Turner offense, more like Seattle’s with Russell Wilson. Teddy Bridgewater was smart about not exposing himself to hits, but he did get banged up in only one start and he might miss the g […]
