Digging deep for 19 players/defenses you aren’t normally using:
David Garrard at Chicago – The Bears don’t have much of a pass rush and their secondary has given up a lot of yards and TDs. Garrard makes for a nice one-week reach.
Kyle Orton vs. Jacksonville – Again, the Jaguar secondary has issues and Orton makes for a nice low-end reach starter.
Matt Schaub at Green Bay – Keep in mind he hasn’t played in a while so he could be rusty. However, the Packer secondary has struggled of late so the numbers should be there in the end since he has a lot of passing options and the Packer secondary isn’t that deep.
Matt Cassel at Seattle – Count on him bouncing back in a big way this week against a struggling secondary.
Chester Taylor at Detroit – The Lion run defense has really regressed of late. How much? How about 194 yards/2.8 TDs per game over their last four! Taylor will get his share of carries in order for you to start him as your #3 RB/flex player.
LenDale White vs. Cleveland – He’s pretty much a matchup player at this point and he has a good one this week since the Titans should wind up blowing out Cleveland. He’ll pile up the yards/TD late.
Peyton Hillis vs. Kansas City – There are a few players a year that come out of nowhere and start to produce. Hillis is one of them. He won’t get better matchups like this so ride him until the gravy train stops.
Sammy Morris at Seattle – Teams are running well of late on this struggling defense. You know they will be able to throw it on them so Morris could easily one run in and pile up decent yardage.
Kevin Faulk at Seattle – You can could on him getting a decent amount of touches now that they are running a complete spread scheme.
Tim Hightower vs. St. Louis – He hasn’t been given a fair chance since their first matchup, but this game figures to be a blowout so Hightower could have another good game against the Rams.
Matt Jones at Chicago – He doesn’t score much, but Jones will catch his share of passes against the suspect Bear secondary. Not a bad #3 WR in PPR leagues.
Devin Hester vs. Jacksonville – The Jaguar secondary was already bad and now CB Rashean Mathis is gone. Nice reach player here is Hester.
Bernard Berrian at Detroit – You know his deal, good matchup, he’ll do well. Bad matchup, he’ll struggle. Don’t let the numbers fool you, teams have chosen to run against them and it’s worked. But you can also pass on them. Berrian should be good for a big play or two this week.
Michael Jenkins at New Orleans – The Saint pass rush and secondary aren’t very good and Jenkins could run free a few times for a score and a decent amount of yards.
Ted Ginn at Buffalo – He smoked their secondary in the first matchup and Buffalo has no pass rush to help their average secondary.
Kevin Boss vs. Philadelphia – He scored in the first matchup and also dropped another one. The Eagles tend to ignone TDs so Boss has a decent chance to score, especially with tall WR Plaxico Burress gone.
Tony Scheffler vs. Kansas City – Nice matchup against a bad defense. While they have several passing options, Scheffler is one of them and he could make a big play or two in this game.
Dustin Keller at San Francisco – Keller is on the boarderline of a reach, not everyone is starting him these days. But you should this week because the 49er secondary is terrible and they have injury issues.
Arizona vs. St. Louis – Marc Bulger is really struggling so the Cardinal defense could pile up sacks and turnovers.
