Dynasty League Thoughts Part Two

Here’s a follow-up to my list from September which you can find in an earlier post:

Chad Henne/Miami – I’m only putting players on this list that are under the radar a bit (that’s why Matt Ryan and Donnie Avery aren’t on here). Henne may not start until 2010 but he has a strong arm and fits the profile of what they want in a QB.

Kevin Kolb/Philadelphia – They still are really high on him and he will eventually be the starter in a high-powered passing game.

Running Back

Tim Hightower/Arizona – We’ve been talking about him since early May and look for him to be their starter next year.

Ryan Torain/Denver – I wrote for Fantasyguru.com magazine that he had a chance to start as a rookie and had he not gotten hurt, that might have happened. Get him now because he has the best chance to start in 2009 and beyond of all their backs.

Kolby Smith/Kansas City – There’s a decent chacne that Larry Johnson is cut after the season so Smith would be next in line to start unless they drafted a back or signed one to replace him.

Derrick Ward/New York Giants – He’ll be a UFA next year and could find a starting job for a few years. He has really good versatility.

Wide Receiver

Devin Hester/Chicago – We saw in recent games that they have gotten him more involved. He’ll start next year for sure and he has a nice upside.

Jordy Nelson/Green Bay – The expectation is that veteran WR Donald Driver will go to the bench by 2010 and Nelson would start over him. Nelson runs well for his size and could do quite well when he gets a chance to start.

Josh Morgan/San Francisco – He has a big frame and runs well for his size. He has to refine several parts of his game but he has a nice upside.

Jacoby Jones/Houston – He has great speed and explosiveness along with good size. While his hands are suspect, he has a nice upside. He could eventually start by 2010.

Domenik Hixon/NY Giants – You saw how well he did filling in for Plaxico Burress. Hixon had a great training camp and preseason and he’s proving to be more than a special teams returner.

Tight End

Dustin Keller/NY Jets – He’s in a logjam at his position but he will eventually start and probably by next season. He’s very athletic and is a playmaker.

Greg Olsen/Chicago - He’s just starting to get involved in their passing game. While he’s sharing PT with Desmond Clark, Olsen will eventually be the starter and has a high upside.

Bo Scaife/Tennessee – He’ll be a UFA after the season and he fits in a WCO. Scaife is very underrated and could be a solid starter somewhere else next season.

Brad Cottam/Kansas City – The thought here is Tony Gonzalez will be traded next year so Cottam would take over. The team is very high on him and he moves well for his size.
