What are people waiting for?

I am in eight leagues right now and in exactly half of them, Carlos Quentin was on the free agency list. Early in the season, I understood that he wasn’t owned, because Jermaine Dye and Nick Swisher were everyday OFs and Jim Thome was the full time DH, which left only one job open, assumed to be for Jerry Owens when he returned from injury. Carlos Quentin had something to say about that, and he now is hitting just about .300 and he is tied for the AL lead in HRs with seven, which has relegated Owens to AAA.

The big question is how long will Quentin keep hitting? I’m sure he is owned in some leagues simply because he is hot and an owner is hoping to catch lightning in a bottle. I prefer to look to his previous body of work to make a more intelligent choice as to his chances.

Here are the top stories that I will be following in Week 16 for fantasy. Philadelphia (9-5) at Washington (3-11) Robert Griffin III did play better last week, but does it mean anything? It’s hard to trust him even against a beatable secondary and a defense that lost a top pass rusher in Trent Cole. If you’re playing in Week 17, can you trust DeSean Jackson, […]

Here are the top stories I’ll be following in Week 15 with some insight on some of them. Pittsburgh (8-5) at Atlanta (5-8) Will Julio Jones play? It’s obviously a huge key for Matt Ryan’s ability to hang with the Steelers in a high-scoring game. Without Jones, they have no explosiveness in the passing game and Ryan will have to dink-and-dunk to Roddy White a […]

Here are all the storylines that I will be following in Week 14 along with some commentary and information on the matchups. Pittsburgh (7-5) at Cincinnati (8-3-1) Can Ben Roethlisberger play better against a solid secondary that has limited him to only 16.0 points a game against them in his last four games? Is Heath Miller someone we can actually trust in th […]
